As a mixed media artist discovering and experimenting with various techniques, styles, and concepts, the journey within my art is both curious and unique. Levure Chimique highlights one of my favorite methods: combining levure chimique (french: baking powder) and paint. Each painting is built with many layers that mimic the passing of time, growth, and decay. The female form represented throughout this body of work is inspired and drawn from my own experiences of womanhood, and my subjects in this series are a reflection of comfort seeking and contentment in the female experience.
